Cub Scout Pinwood Derby

If you read Bailey's blog you know yesterday was the pinewood derby, Alex is not in scouts anymore but our wonderful pack lets parents and siblings have a car in the race as well.
I love this group and Bailey does as well so we will be back next fall!!
Alex's car was all black its the one closest to us.

We saw this A LOT on the screen, Alex 1st place!!

Of course we could not get away with not have a pic of Alex and his favorite sister watching the races.

Not only did the different dens get 1st, 2nd and 3rd place tropheys so did the adults an the siblings.
Alex won 1st place, Frankie was 2nd place (she is the little girl and Max's brother from Bailey's blog) and Edwardo's sisters car won 3rd but she was not there so Edwardo excepted her trophey.

Alex is so so so proud as well and this is his 1st trophey, both boys have them on display in their room.

I think next year we will put in a car for each family memeber.

Earning stripes

Last Saturday Alex took his 1st karate test to earn his next belt, they need to earn 4 strips before he gets his belt. We thought he did great on his test and on Wednesday we found out he earned 3 of the 4 stripes so on his next test he will get his belt and maybe even some extra stripes.

This is a great group we have the boys in and its 3-5 months at a time of classes depending on the time of year and its not expensive like private places are.

They really want to teach our kids something not just make money.

This video is just Alex as class this past week and you will see his stripes on his belt that he earned.

Last week Wednesdays the boys were invited to shop with the cops. We arrived at the local police station at 6pm and had pizza and treats. Then Santa arrived with some gifts and goodies, even Eva got a bag and a new stuffed monkey.
After we all ate and had some fun the cops loaded up the patty wagon with our kids, including Alex and Bailey and took them off to walmart with lights and sirens going off.
We loved watching them go down the road, 6 or 7 police cars and a patty wagon going down the road as watching everyone pull over for them and I know they have to be wondering what the heck is going on in our town and at walmart???
It was a blast. We got to walmart and the boys were paired up with a very nice police officer and ready to shop. Each boy got $100 and Bailey was the one to get smaller thing so he could get more, he got toy story walkie talkies, toy story buckey of soliders, legos, bionicales and some action figures. Alex got 2 video games and they even had alittle money left over to get Eva 2 items, a toy vaccum and stacking toys.
They did great and I know Alex loved it and was very thankful for it all, he wishes he knew how people get put into something like this. He knows so many people he would love to help but we have no clue how to even get into it.

We do not even know who put our names into it, just like every year someone does something but we have no clue who does it. We have angels watching over us.

Circus

Earlier this month the boys and I went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. We had a great time, it was scouts night so the boys and I got to go before the show started and saw 3 proformances and then met all the clowns and proformers, the boys also got autographs and enjoyed every minute of it.

the motorcycle behind them was made at OCC, Alex thought that was cool. We use to watch the show.

This was Alex's favorite clown

This is Todd the Clown he was great with the kids.

Who would have thought you could teach an elephant to sit.

TIGERS!! They were great

The end of the show!!

Not much happening...

Alex made the honor roll again and he has been working hard at Karate and school. Other then that we have not done much else.
I do have to say I am very proud of him and how much he loves his brother and sister, he even did Christmas shopping for them with his own money.
